McIntosh Chiefs watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 4-2 loss to Starr’s Mill on Tuesday. Starr’s Mill scored on a home run by Courtney in the first inning, a single by Tate in the first inning, and a home run by Ector in the second inning.
McIntosh Chiefs lost despite out-hitting Starr’s Mill seven to five.
Starr’s Mill got on the board in the first inning. Courtney homered on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.
Yeager was the winning pitcher for Starr’s Mill. The hurler lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out ten and walking one.
Bradley Grasser took the loss for McIntosh Chiefs. The pitcher allowed five hits and four runs over six innings, striking out four.
Starr’s Mill mashed two home runs on the day. Ector had a long ball in the second inning. Courtney had a homer in the first inning.
McIntosh Chiefs had seven hits in the game. Isaiah Lopez and Conner Soper all managed multiple hits for McIntosh Chiefs. Soper and Lopez each collected two hits to lead McIntosh Chiefs.
Tate led Starr’s Mill with two hits in three at bats. Starr’s Mill stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. A Killingsworth led the way with three.
