Despite allowing four runs in the third inning, McIntosh Chiefs Varsity defeated Northgate 8-7 on Saturday. Northgate’s big inning was driven by singles by T Hughes and Josh Tate and doubles by R Fagerstrom and Jake Queen.
McIntosh Chiefs Varsity collected 15 hits and Northgate had 17 in the high-scoring affair.
Northgate got things moving in the second inning, when Jackson Randolph singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
McIntosh Chiefs Varsity put up five runs in the fifth inning. McIntosh Chiefs Varsity’s big inning was driven by a walk by Trey King, a single by Logan Schmidt, and a double by Joe Glozier.
Davis Roberson took the win for McIntosh Chiefs Varsity. He lasted five innings, allowing four hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking zero. Isiah Lopez threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
