McIntosh Chiefs Varsity had all cylinders firing on offense on Wednesday, winning big over Jonesboro 11-3
In the second inning, Jonesboro got their offense started. L Richardson drew a walk, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the second inning, McIntosh Chiefs Varsity tied things up at one. Blake Summers grounded out, scoring one run.
McIntosh Chiefs Varsity took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Summers tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, Evan Gillanders doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Joe Glozier doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Trey King was credited with the victory for McIntosh Chiefs Varsity. He went two and a third innings, allowing one run on five hits and walking one. Joe Pressell threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Richardson took the loss for Jonesboro. He went four innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and striking out five.
Brad Grasser started the game for McIntosh Chiefs Varsity. He allowed four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out four
McIntosh Chiefs Varsity totaled eight hits. Isiah Lopez and Glozier each racked up multiple hits for McIntosh Chiefs Varsity. Lopez went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead McIntosh Chiefs Varsity in hits. McIntosh Chiefs Varsity tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Glozier led the way with five.
Jonesboro tallied nine hits. J Blash, M Dunn, and T Walden each managed multiple hits for Jonesboro.
