In a tense 9 inning game, the McIntosh Chiefs kept their cool and brought home the win after an at home collision that caused the ejection of #4 Totten for Northgate.
McIntosh Chiefs took Thursday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 2-1 walk-off victory over Northgate. The game was tied at one with McIntosh Chiefs batting in the bottom of the ninth when Jessica Dellatorre singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Rebecca Muh struck out ten, while Cato sat down 12.
In the top of the fifth inning, Northgate tied things up at one when Northgate scored one run on a stolen base.
Muh got the win for McIntosh Chiefs. She surrendered one run on eight hits over nine innings, striking out ten.
Cato took the loss for Northgate. She lasted eight and a third innings, allowing eight hits and two runs while striking out 12.
McIntosh Chiefs tallied eight hits in the game. Muh and Dellatorre all collected multiple hits for McIntosh Chiefs. Dellatorre and Muh each collected two hits to lead McIntosh Chiefs.
Northgate totaled eight hits. Totten and Chastain all had multiple hits for Northgate. Totten led Northgate with three hits in three at bats. Northgate didn’t commit a single error in the field. F Lumpp had the most chances in the field with 12.
