Coed Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Senior Athlete Spotlight: Kayla Rose

Kayla Lauren Rose

I played McIntosh Soccer in 8th grade and traveling soccer until my sophomore year, but I decided to run track and cross country throughout the rest of high school.

Favorite Sports Moment:

My favorite sports moment was winning XC State Championship two out of the four years and running that final lap on the track to be the 1600m state champion. I set better goals for my last high school track season, but I am blessed to have yet another opportunity to run in college!

Favorite Athlete:

My favorite athlete is an Olympic hurdler, feminist, and beauty enthusiast Queen Claye!

Favorite Subject/Teacher:

My favorite subjects are Math and Science, but I found Spanish and Psychology intriguing as well! Some of my favorite teachers were Señora Schwingshakl, Mr. Mason, Mr. Clink, Mrs. Sisk, Señor Zamore, and Mrs. Reese. I also really enjoyed MAAC with Mr. Hammond. I will truly miss the atmosphere at McIntosh! ❤️

Plans After High School:

After high school, I plan to attend Georgia Institute of Technology, majoring in Biology, and running cross country and indoor & outdoor track. I’m so blessed to have this opportunity! I thank God, my family, my coaches, teachers and mentors at school.
